Orion Business Park Fire Accident in Thane 2023

A major fire broke out at a commercial complex on Ghodbunder Road in Maharashtra’s Thane city on Saturday night, a civic official said. Read more to know more. A fire broke out at the buildings of Orion Business Park and adjoining Cine Mall on Ghodbunder road of Kapurbawadi area in Maharashtra Thane district, Thane Municipal Corporation officials said. The fire broke out in the commercial area around 8:30 p.m. then spread to the shopping center next door. Thick smoke coming from the accident scene also affected the movement of passing vehicles. Majiwada flyover is also congested because the commercial area is located at the end of the flyover. According to the Regional Disaster Management Center of Thane Municipal Corporation, several fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Police, disaster management teams and firefighters also arrived at the scene, officials said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, efforts to extinguish the fire are still underway. More detailed information about the incident is awaited. RDMC Director Avinash Sawant said, Our team rushed to the spot after receiving information about the fire from Balkum fire brigade. Local police, fire department and RDMC team reached the spot and doused the fire. The commercial area has staff on the upper floors and the ground floor has an electronics showroom. It is located next to the Cine Wonder cinema complex. Built by the Kanakia Group, it was one of the earliest multiplex systems in Thane. Football in the complex declined after the emergence of larger shopping malls, combining cinemas with shopping, dining and beverage outlets.
