Richard Pootmans was born in 1956 in Ottawa, Ontario. Richard served his early life with many jobs here such as working as a land agent at Hudson’s Bay Petroleum Company, Dome Petroleum, after which he worked as a senior business development manager. Soon after he entered real estate at the Calgary Economic Development Corporation. He worked as a Financial Analyst for some time. He became vice president of Installation at SMED International. Richard Pootmans then became a consultant. He previously worked in financial management for business strategy at Traction Works. He is co-owner of PORTS International stores in Calgary.
