A woman in Texas accidentally drove to Mexico to pick up zip ties at Home Depot for her mother.
Missing one’s exit sent her to another country. Trinity Jackson (@thetrinityjackson) explains how she mistakenly went to Mexico on her TikTok account.
Trinity spent time with her mother in El Paso, Texas, who asked her to pick up a tie at Home Depot. Trinity discovered that the nearest Home Depot was only 11 minutes away and began driving there.
The TikToker’s small mistake landed her at the border between Mexico and the United States. This is how she came back.

Trinity revealed that she was driving with her dogs while music played in the car. Then she noticed a sign pointing to the Port of Juarez, connecting El Paso and Cuidad Juarez, Mexico.
“Mind you, at this point I was too close to the sign to put two and two together, and I realized that I was now leaving the US and heading to Mexico,” she said. There was nowhere for her to turn until she met the Border Patrol.
“I said I needed to understand how I could return to my country,” Trinity explained to the agents, despite the language barrier. “I didn’t mean to do this. This was an accident. This is a sorely missed escape route.”
Trinity did not have a valid vehicle registration but provided a driver’s license, passport and other legal documents. Security dogs then searched her car and agents allowed Trinity to re-enter the United States.
“I don’t care about the laces. The lanyard will be available tomorrow. I will crochet, drink some wine and go to bed in America,” Jackson concluded.
