Decorative details sewn by specialized Hand and Lock workshop are not included in the price. Some of the royal outfits for the Coronation were created by this atelier, which is famous for its partnership with the Royal Family. Jane Taylor, a seamstress, made Mordaunt’s hat. It also features a Hand and Locks embroidered fern pattern.

The first female swordswoman, Penny Mordaunt, was responsible for presenting the King with the jeweled sword offering and carrying the national sword. As the current President of the Privy Council, Mordaunt was given this responsibility. As a result, the former defense secretary made the unusual decision to dress in a “feminized” style, as she explained to Politico. The President usually wears a black and gold tuxedo. Mordaunt said in an interview with Politico that she “didn’t feel right” wearing traditional black and gold court attire.
