A Florida court has ruled that a group of people sued by Andrew Tate for defamation will not be named due to threats of violence against them.
When Andrew Tate and his brother Tristian fought multiple accusations of rape and human trafficking, the two went on the offensive, suing for defamation.
The brothers allege that they were falsely accused by a group that conspired against them, costing them millions of dollars as well as their freedom as a result.
While the two are seeking $300 million in damages, their accusers will not be named in court after threats were made against them, despite objections from Tates’ lawyers.
Andrew Tate’s accusers will not be named in court following threats
On X, lawyer Rob Freund reported that the defendants in the case asked the court not to use their real names, citing threats to their lives.
The shared document further revealed a number of threats made which the court deemed credible.
In a post with just eight likes on Instagram, one user commented “I’m about to meet a killer.”
A direct message sent to one of the defendants said: “Changing your name won’t help. The world knows your name and what you are doing to innocent brothers. You will get what is coming to you.”
“You deserve to die,” another user wrote while messaging the defendant on Instagram.
