TikTokers are urging a woman to end her two-year relationship after her boyfriend claimed to have ‘forgot’ his active Hinge account.
Cheating in a relationship can come in many different forms, whether physical or emotional.
Exactly what constitutes fraud can vary significantly from one relationship to another depending on the specific boundaries. But there’s one thing that’s generally agreed upon: keeping your dating life a secret from your partner is a no-no.
And it was that line of thinking that led TikTok users to urge a woman to break up with her boyfriend of two years after she discovered he still had an active Hinge profile on his phone.
Visiting ‘rose_n_gunses’ online, the woman took to social media to share how she found out; “My boyfriend of two years and I were scrolling through TikTok on his phone and when he exited the app, I saw that he had the Hinge app.”
Claiming that he “forgot he had it,” her boyfriend then revealed that he not only had the app, but also had an active account.
“He offered to delete it, he said he wasn’t active with it, that it was just that [that] he forgot about it and I said it made me feel insecure, it made me feel like he was looking for a backup and then he deleted it,” she continued.
However, she later discovered that he had simply deleted the app and once again “forgot” his account. Attracting 2.8 million views to date, the TikTok user was unconvinced by her boyfriend’s claims of poor memory, urging her to break off the relationship and run away.
“Leave him and don’t look back,” one person wrote. The second offered advice for anyone facing a similar conundrum; “The hinge will stop showing [your] profile for everyone after 2 months of inactivity. Tinder is 2 weeks.”
It is unknown whether the woman took their advice, with a second cryptic video posted in which she talks about being “tired of fighting” and not wanting to question whether she whether loved or liked or not.
