Tracey Nix Grandmother Arrested Over Death Of 7-Month-Old Uriel In 2022 2023

Grandchildren are their grandparents’ life and they can do anything for them. However, something unexpected happened and it was hard to accept. A grandmother has been detained for killing her 7-month-old granddaughter. The suspect was identified as Tracey Nix from Florida. She was accused of causing her niece’s death. However, this is not a case of intentional murder but she is still facing murder charges. According to reports, the toddler was left in an overheated car.

Grandmother Tracey Nix was arrested

The news comes less than a year after her grandson drowned under her care. The deceased toddler identified as Uriel lost his life in 2022 after being left in the car by his grandmother. Tracy claims she forgot about the child. Sadly, last year, Uriel’s brother also lost his life while in the care of his grandmother Nix. The mother of the toddlers was completely devastated by their loss and called for her to be jailed for allowing both of her children to die in such a short time.

According to court records, Uriel Schock’s grandmother, Tracy Nix, 65, was taken into custody and charged with capital murder. She left her 7-month-old grandmother in the car and forgot about her, the cause of her death. This incident occurred on November 1, 2022. She left Uriel in her car outside her residence in Wauchula for hours after lunch with her friends. She claimed she forgot her niece was in the car as mentioned in court papers.

Uriel’s father Drew Shock was interviewed and expressed his disappointment and sadness, asking how anyone could leave a toddler in the car. According to documents, Nix was asked by Kaila Schock, Uriel’s mother, to care for the child while she went to get her hair done. Nix went to her friend’s house and picked up her niece before going to the restaurant. Security footage shows Nix putting the toddler in the back seat before driving home, then parking the car and going inside to talk to his dog.

The toddler was pronounced dead at the scene and her death was ruled a homicide because of the high temperatures in the car that day. The mother of the deceased children has called for her mother to be jailed after she lost two young children to death within a year that she left in the care of her grandmother.
