TikTok users are again seeing an increase in mentions of December 3 on their For You Pages, but what does that mean? Here’s everything you need to know.
TikTok is definitely the place to see the latest trends and viral memes, especially over the past year with so many new users joining the app and contributing to the ever-growing pool of content.
While trends often stem from sounds, filters, or viral challenges, there have been several cases in the past where a specific day would start trending on the platform, causing those who did not captures confusion about its meaning.
October was an explosive day as people tried to make sense of the mysterious videos heralding the day.

Now December 3rd is going viral again after first gaining traction in December 2020 – but what does it all mean?
Meaning of December 3 on TikTok
If you’ve seen December 3rd mentioned on your For You Page, chances are you’ve seen it mentioned in conjunction with sweaters.
As it turns out, it all stems from the lyrics of Conan Gray’s song ‘Heather’ which was released in 2020 and has remained a popular hit ever since, especially on TikTok.
The first line of the song is: “I still remember, the third of December, you in my sweater. You said it looks better on me than you.”
This caused TikTok to associate the day mentioned in the song with giving sweaters, so some people planned to give their own sweaters to their lovers on that day. Others made videos about how they hoped they were lucky enough to receive a sweater on the day.
It’s unclear how many people actually exchanged sweaters during the day in reality, but on TikTok at least it became a fun reference to a beloved 2020 song.
