A new trend is spreading as women take over TikTok to share some hilarious examples of ‘math boys’. Here’s everything you need to know to participate.
A month ago, ‘math girl’ became a popular topic on TikTok after three New Zealand radio hosts coined the term to justify spending habits.
‘Math Girl’ exploded and the hashtag quickly garnered millions of views as others began responding in their own ways. Now, the platform is flooded with examples of “funny logic” used by girls to convince themselves that purchases don’t count or “save money.”
And it seems now that the financial trend has had its fill; ‘boy math’ has arrived for you. Here’s everything you need to know about TikTok’s latest trend.
What is ‘Math Boy’ on TikTok?
While ‘girls math’ is about women making light-hearted fun of their bizarre shopping logic, ‘boys math’ is a bit more brutal.
Women once again pulled out their phones, revealing the ‘math boy’ only intended to point out and mock men’s hypocritical habits and behavior.
One creator said: “Math Boy is when you tell a guy that something he said really hurt your feelings and he says ‘Well, I guess I’ll never talk again because you can’t stand ****** jokes.’”
With over 168 million views on the hashtag, many TikTok users have supported the ‘math boy’ and shared their own interpretation of the term.
“The math boy is taking up half the points in his Christmas gifts [zero contributions] for planning, purchasing or packing,” one person posted. Another said, “Boy’s math is adding inches to everything.”
