Girl measuring the TikTok trend explained
The ‘Measure Girl’ trend revolves around people using their arms and hands as makeshift rulers to measure the size of rooms, the length of walls or the size of pieces of furniture.
TikToker @amurphyrn was one of the first content creators to popularize it on the platform, writing on his video: “Math for girls is fun but don’t forget to measure girls.”
In the clip, she demonstrates the “mathematically unstoppable” technique of using her finger to pinpoint the center of the wall where she wants to hang the frame. Her post has since gone viral with 17.4 million views as many commenters found the method relevant.
Inspired by amurphyrn, the popular girls’ TikTok account posted a clip of a woman using her arm to determine the length of a wall. “The only way to measure everything,” they wrote in the caption.
Content creator ourhme_ also joined the trend, revealing in the video that she uses her arms to accurately gauge whether a table fits a particular spot. “60% of the time it works all the time,” she said.
At the time of writing, the hashtag “measure the girl” has attracted more than 21.5 million views on TikTok, with the DIY hack continuing to gain traction on the app.
