The mother of the 15-month-old child who died and her boyfriend, Jake Drummond, were both found guilty. Drummond beat the boy and shook him to death. Because of the swelling and bruises on his face, young Lennon was once described as having a “panda” face. Jacob’s mother did not shield him at all and even mocked him for looking like an insane young man. Louise Lennon, mother of Jacob Lennon, 32, received a 10-year prison sentence for failing to ensure her son’s safety.

Jake Drummond, Louise’s drug-addicted boyfriend, was sentenced to at least 32 years in prison for shaking and beating the child to death. Jake Drummond, 33, is said to have used cocaine and smoked up to 15 pieces of cannabis a day. Weeks before Jacob Lennon died in August 2019, the horrific abuse began. According to testimony given at the pair’s trial in March at the Old Bailey, Drummond is accused of causing multiple injuries to Jacob’s face, body and genitals three weeks before his death. Drummond fatally beat and shook the child on August 27, 2019, leaving his face so bruised and swollen that onlookers said Jacob resembled a “raccoon.”
Jake Drummond’s previous convictions include drug possession, strangling his mother and pushing his ex-girlfriend into a wall. At a publicly broadcast sentencing at the Old Bailey, Drummond, of Roehampton, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 32 years for the murder of Jacob and six consecutive years for wounding. Lennon received a concurrent six-year sentence for the cruelty to which she pleaded guilty, and a ten-year sentence for causing or allowing Jacob’s death. Wayne Jolley, Detective Chief Inspector at Scotland Yard, said this was the most tragic case he had encountered in his three-decade career. He went on to say that it was “distressing and emotional” for all parties. Jolley says the 15-month-old child suffered some truly horrific and brutal injuries.
At the time of his death, baby Jacob had more than 20 wounds on his small body. According to Jolley, one of his injuries was to his genitals. Drummond abused Jacob over a three-week period despite the fact that he suffered a severe head injury that led to his death. Louise Lennon should have understood that these injuries required medical attention because she was the child’s mother. But she didn’t care. So this is all about this case.
