A former Service NSW employee charged with sharing personal data allegedly used to facilitate the kidnapping and torture of a Sydney man has been released on bail. Read more to know more. Sira Elkheir, 21, was arrested in a Greenacre parking lot on Wednesday morning and charged for his alleged involvement in the incident that occurred last month. Peter Vuong was allegedly kidnapped by an armed group from his Smithfield home on March 9, before being taken to a house in Belmore, where he was tortured for six days. Police believe the 26-year-old man was tied up, forced to have his teeth extracted, and a group of criminals stuffed a pistol into his mouth with the intention of extorting money from him or his accomplices. He was rescued when tactical officers stormed the property on March 14. Ms Elkheir was arrested at around 11am on Wednesday, as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident by the Force attack Kkuoa.

He was charged with her participation in a criminal group, access and modification of restricted data, unauthorized operation with intent to commit a serious crime and detention with intent to demand ransom causing harm. In early March, the court heard that Mr. Vuong was followed to the walkway by the prisoner and suffered a broken eye socket. After 11 hours, the police confirmed that the kidnapping had occurred and that Ms. Elkheir was said to have accessed Mr. Dinh’s wife’s driver’s license. During the process of demanding ransom, the kidnappers sent photos of the driver’s licenses of Mr. Dinh and his wife. Ms Elkheir’s lawyer, Troy Edwards SC, told the court against his client that the Crown’s case was extremely weak and she was not cooperating with anyone.

He said that he used to have a good and strong personality. He added that she accessed them as a favor without concern for what the information would be used for. On bail, Judge Elaine Truscott said there was no evidence she had any accomplices and accepted there were strong family links. She said there was also no evidence that Ms. Elkheir knew what happened to Mr. Vuong, for the purpose of the kidnapping.

Her father agreed to post a $300,000 bail bond. As part of her bail conditions, Ms Elkheir must report to police and reside at Yagoona’s home. Her matter was adjourned until June. The six men, aged 19-21, were previously charged with offenses including aggravated break and enter, causing grievous bodily harm and confinement with friends with intent to ransom.
