Townsville Police acting superintendent Chris Lawson said police officers arrived at the location at about 4.40pm and spoke to a 52-year-old man. Nearly 15 minutes later, the man holding the knife confronted the police. Just because of this, the police started shooting at the man with their service guns. This news was shared by a man named Lawson on Saturday. Police officers provided first aid before paramedics arrived but the man died on the spot.
