A famous cryptocurrency founder, Do Kwon, founder of Terraform Labs, became a topic of discussion after being arrested in Montenegro. That’s right, a Korean citizen Do Kwon appears to have been arrested, according to a tweet by the country’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Filip Adzic. Now, his arrest has spread all over the Internet and people are trying to find out why he was arrested and what was the reason behind his sudden arrest. Why was Do Kwon arrested?
A tweet by Filip Adzic reads “Montenegro police have arrested a person suspected of being one of the most wanted fugitives, Korean citizen Do Kwon, co-founder and CEO of Terraform Labs based in Singapore”. According to official reports, Do Kwon has been the target of several investigations and was even on an Interpol red notice after stablecoin terraUSD (UST) and its nearly $40 billion ecosystem exploded last year, sending shock waves throughout the cryptocurrency market. Adzic added that the suspect in the case is currently detained at Podgorica airport with forged documents and said he is still waiting for official confirmation of his identity.

According to a report by Yonhap news agency, the Korean National Police Agency said they verified the suspect’s appearance as Kwon based on checking the suspect’s age, name and nationality on his ID card.
The official account of Dritan Abazovic, the prime minister of Montenegro, follows Adzic’s unconfirmed account. Abazovic’s account also shared a tweet announcing Kwon’s arrest. The official tweets mentioned Adzic’s account.

After the tweet was posted, many people and social media users started leaving reactions and some also appreciated the government for the move.
