He is a Chinese-Canadian star, model, singer and record producer. Kris Wu was detained on suspicion of rape on July 31, 2021. Du Meizhu, 19, a Chinese university student, blamed the pop star for sexual assault in early July. Du Meizhu claimed that she met Wu when she was 17 years old and a minor. She was summoned to a party at his house, where they pushed her to drink. Since Meizhu is not someone who often goes to bars and drinks, she drank two glasses. She then wakes up the next day in Wu’s bed. Meizhu said Wu was very kind to her and told her he would be responsible for her. She thought it was the beginning of their relationship, but he stopped responding to her messages after a while. Meizhu first felt sorry for herself. However, she later contacted other women who had experienced similar events to hers. They told Meizhu that Wu had seduced them with assurances of jobs and other possibilities. Some of the women are still teenagers. At least 24 women have come forward to denounce inappropriate behavior. Furthermore, Mr. Wu denied the accusations and said he did not force Meizhu to drink alcohol. He also denied other allegations of grooming girls in exchange for jobs and other benefits. Wu’s lawyers filed a defamation lawsuit against Meizu. As of now, Wu has not yet appeared in court and the charges against him remain unverified.<\/p>
