Some big changes were revealed on the ITV soap recently. Emmerdale kicked off a major storyline in its latest episode. Emmerdale, formerly known as Emmerdale Farm until 1989, is a British television soap opera broadcast on ITV. The show is set in Emmerdale, a fictional community in the Yorkshire Dales known as Beckindale until 1994. Emmerdale Farm, created by Kevin Laffan, premiered on 16 October 1972. The series welcomed a new production team in the late 1980s, which handled name changes, more dramatic storylines, and increased episode output.<\/p>
