The cause of death of model Maleesa Mooney, who was pregnant when she was found dead, bound and gagged, has been confirmed as homicidal violence.<\/p>\n

Mooney was found when her family asked officers to conduct a welfare check because they had not heard from her and were growing worried.<\/p>\n

LAPD officers obtained a key from the building manager that they used to enter Mooney’s apartment. They first noticed something was wrong when they noticed blood on the floor, just outside the refrigerator.<\/p>\n

When they checked, they discovered Mooney, who was pregnant at the time, bound by her own clothes and electrical cords. She is 31 years old.<\/p>\n

Blunt trauma was believed to be the cause, but a toxicology report revealed more details.<\/p>\n

How did Maleesa Mooney die?<\/h2>\n

After investigators examined Mooney’s body, they discovered that the model had bruises, lacerations and abrasions on her upper body.<\/p>\n

Although the blunt force injuries suggested that \u201cshe may have been involved in a violent altercation before her death,\u201d they were not severe enough to be the sole cause.<\/p>\n

Mooney’s cause of death was ruled “homicidal violence”, while the report also suggested she may have been suffocated. Despite this, investigators could not find any signs of strangulation around her neck.<\/p>\n

In terms of offenders, there are currently no suspects in custody. However, an unknown man was seen entering the building on September 7, using Mooney’s key to enter.<\/p>\n
