Maricsa Trejo will compete in Season 8 of the Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship. She will compete against 11 other bakers in a macabre theme for the crown and $25,000 in prize money. The eight-episode series will be set in a haunted hotel and will premiere on September 12, 2022 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Maricsa Trejo, owner of La Casita Bakeshop (Richardson Bakery), is well known in the North Texas baking industry. Stephanie Boswell, Carla Hall and Zac Young, judges, will judge her skills. He’ll also get a tour of the ten most haunted hotels in America if he wins the contest.<\/p>\n

According to the official synopsis of the show:<\/p>\n

“In this season of HALLOWEEN CAKES, host John Henson is the janitor of a haunted hotel and will greet the contestants for their eight-week stay, unless their cake fails to cause impressed the judges, in which case they would have to “check out” and take the elevator to the mysterious 13th floor, from which the guests never returned.<\/p>\n

Maricsa Trejo is excited to join the tournament.<\/h2>\n

Maricsa told The Dallas Morning News that she had moments of nervousness thinking about a good result in the league. Earlier this year, she was a semi-finalist of the James Beard Award for Outstanding Baker. This adds to her anxiety as she has to defend her point of view. Maricsa and her husband, Alex Henderson, own Richardson’s Bakery, which recently expanded into a 6,000 square foot space. Her Instagram bio describes her as “a pastry chef by profession, artist by night, reader by day, smiley by night, singer by morning and adventurer by nature.” He currently has more than 600 followers. Maricsa is a self-taught baking entrepreneur from Texas who “lives and breathes Halloween,” according to her show profile.<\/p>\n
