India will host the G20 leaders’ summit in 2023 for the first time in the country’s history. The summit will be held in New Delhi in September and will be attended by more than 40 heads of delegation, the largest number ever to attend a G20 summit. India is currently chairing the G20 and this is a significant milestone for the country. <\/p>\n

More than 200 meetings and events will be held in 55 cities in the country ahead of the 2023 G20 summit, which will be held on September 9-10. The main summit will be held in New Delhi, but other cities hosting the event include Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Indore, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram and Udaipur.<\/p>\n

The theme of India’s G20 presidency is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, which means “the world is one family”. This theme reflects India’s belief in the importance of cooperation and solidarity among nations. The purpose of this summit is to address the challenges of climate change, terrorism and inequality.<\/p>\n

Meetings and events will cover a wide range of topics, including finance, trade, climate change and global health. The various locations chosen for the events will reflect India’s commitment to showcase its cultural and economic diversity to the world. <\/p>\n

Beginning on May 22, a three-day meeting will be held in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. J&K’s special status was revoked in 2019 and has been the subject of controversy and hostilities ever since. China has already boycotted the meeting that was supposed to be held in Srinagar. <\/p>\n

The theme of the G20 summit in 2023:<\/p>\n

The official G20 summit website explains: “The theme of India’s G20 presidency – ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One Earth · One Family · One Future’ – is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha Upanishad. In essence, the theme affirms the value of all life – human, animal, plant and microorganism – and their mutual connection on planet Earth and in the wider universe.<\/p>\n

The theme also highlights LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), its associated environmentally sustainable and responsible choices, both at the level of individual lifestyles and national development, leading to globally transformative actions that result in a cleaner, greener and bluer future.”<\/p>\n
