After months of controversy surrounding reaction content, streaming star xQc’s YouTube channel has been terminated.
Popular streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has been criticized for “stealing content” for his reaction videos and has faced multiple copyright strikes on YouTube. In recent weeks, however, xQc has refrained from posting to YouTube, apparently hoping to avoid another copyright strike that could put his account at risk.
But now the streamer has learned that his YouTube channel has been taken down after attempts to access the page resulted in a message saying: “This page is unavailable. Sorry for that. Try looking for something else.”
At the time of writing, xQc’s YouTube channel is completely inaccessible and all of his content has disappeared from the site.
Reacting to the live broadcast situation, xQc expressed confusion and a bit of disappointment. He believes the termination was due to pending counterclaims of copyright infringement strikes not being promptly processed, resulting in “automatic termination.”
xQc seemed optimistic about a reversal of this situation, saying, “I think it’s because, basically, I think a number of things, what the strikes are going to impact, then I want counterclaim, and then it’s just, it doesn’t work in time or something like that, and it automatically stops, but it comes back.”
Despite the setback, xQc seemed relatively unconcerned about the situation from a personal standpoint, suggesting that he was not concerned about finances. Rather, xQc focuses more on the community aspect of his content.
“I’m not angry financially and I never will be, because it’s always for everyone,” he said. “YouTube is for everyone, I don’t care how much money it makes… It sucks that we’re losing it now because people don’t understand their content, right? But in terms of revenue, I haven’t looked at it a second time.”
While xQc seems hopeful that the channel will return, his fans aren’t so sure and are disappointed by the small possibility that all of his content could be lost forever.
One fan commented: “This is really bad if he can’t get the channel back. Discovered his content in late 2019 – early 2020 and had a lot of good memories.”
Another added, “Lowkey however, his old videos are very entertaining [as f***]. It’s sad to see so many memories passed this way.”
