Streaming star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has revealed that his YouTube channel has been reinstated after being briefly terminated and that he could have easily avoided it.
Many streamers have leveraged their success on Twitch to expand to other platforms. Many have set up dedicated TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube channels to show clips from their streams, and in some cases, upload full replays of their broadcasts.
Since some streams show copyrighted content, putting them on YouTube can be a headache. Former Overwatch star xQc recently found that out firsthand when his main channel was suspended.
Canadians are upset that his channel was taken down, mainly because of the community built around his channel. However, it came back and it seems like he was able to prevent it from happening in the first place.
YouTube channel xQc is unbanned after short-term termination
The Twitch and Kick streamer addressed his YouTube channel’s return during a November 27 broadcast, when he revealed that he was “too lazy” to deal with some of the strikes. which he had to endure.
“Someone who doesn’t belong to any of these fields, randomly, claims to be one of these people and says ‘yo, this is my video’ but that person isn’t Tom Scott or the main video or anybody,” he said, crediting the video with getting him suspended.
“Literally, when I filed the counterclaim, it only took a moment to take effect and we exceeded the limit so the account was banned. That’s it.”
The streaming star is not the first, nor will he be the last, content creator to be struck down by false claims.
It’s something that has been rampant over the past few years, and many creators are calling for change. However, YouTube is so big that it has to have an automated censorship system.
