Unlocking Skyview Tower Sahasra Slope in ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ is probably the most frustrating Skyview Tower location in the entire game. This is because the characters involved give you terrible advice and the clues you get are vague at best and deliberately misleading at worst. Once completed, however, it will give you a great base from which to explore the rest of Western Necluda and beyond. Here’s what you need to know.

To access the Sahasra Slope Viewing Tower, you need to enter the Sahasra Slope Cave below the tower and use your Ascension power to get through the door locked from below. As you approach the tower, you talk to Billson, the unhelpful Rito mechanic responsible for repairing the Tower. While discussing the caves below the tower, he specifically mentioned that he was hungry and often went mushroom hunting in them during construction. Once inside Sahasra Skyview Tower has nothing to do with mushrooms or his hungry stomach, so don’t make the mistake of thinking he wants you to bring him some delicious mushrooms from the tarp as a snack.

Instead, you have to go down the hill and into the cave. You will witness a handy stone hammer and smashing cracked rocks, rushing towards your right. Luckily, if you’re short on rock crushing equipment, some rusty claymores and other hand weapons will drop from within the rubble to replenish your supplies. There will be a lot of rocks to remove here, but on the right side you’ll discover a secret passage in the wall that leads to a small cave. Just below the Skyview Tower, there are two entrances to the cave – in the northwest and southeast. This small tunnel system under the cave is what you want to get to and you just have to jump down one level. Be careful because you can be attacked by Battle Talus.

Equip hammer/rock weapon/use bombs to get through the cave system. There are a lot of rocks, so smash them down. You want to find an enclosed area covered by a rock – around coordinates 1343, 1178, 0131. Once you’re in this cave, use Ascend and you’ll bounce your head off the tower floor. Jump out and activate the terminal to repair the tower. Finally, use the map to line up underneath the building, then use your Ascension power inside the cave and you’ll appear inside the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower.
