TLC’s Crack Addicts is not what it sounds like. The series follows chiropractor Alessandra Colon as she and her staff approach some of the most extreme and debilitating problems with unique, revolutionary methods.

In the premiere episode, Alessandra had an appointment with Brenda, and while she was clicking her back, the patient farted right in her face! But like a true professional, she took the incident in stride and said: “I didn’t expect him to fart in my face, but I wanted to take one for the team.”
Apparently the patient, who was giggling wildly, apologized for letting out air.

Alessandra was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma when she was 14 — with only a 14% chance of survival. “The worst part most people would think was chemotherapy and radiation, but I never looked at it that way. Of course, it’s not fun to be close to death every day. “I mostly just took care of my family,” she said.
But she never lost hope. She graduated from high school, graduated from the University of Arizona in 2004 and received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer Chiropractic in Florida in 2012. She is now a well-known chiropractor.
“That’s when I decided to either let the bad things in my life take over or overcome them,” she said. “It was the first time I knew that fear is a matter of perspective and that my future is a matter of choice. This paved the way for the doctor I am today.”

According to Alessandra, Aiden is “the sweetest little boy, barely getting up with the cutest squeals and squeals,” while Ryann is a “crazy, cool, fun and sweet” little girl.
