A viral video of several crew members standing on the wing of a plane has drawn criticism from their company, Swiss International Air Lines. According to reports, the airline’s management described the incident as “unprofessional” and “extremely dangerous”. They added that the crew members are only allowed to climb on the wing in case of “urgent evacuation”.

What does the video show?
The video was posted on the X handle Breaking Aviation News & Videos. “SWISS cabin crew in serious trouble for taking a selfie on the wing of a 777 in Buenos Aires,” reads the caption shared with the video.
The clip opens to show a female crew member standing on a wing. Soon she enters the plane, and her place is taken by a male crew member who strikes a few poses.
“The video was shot a few days ago in Buenos Aires, shortly before the return flight to Zurich via Sao Paulo. According to the airline, there were no passengers at the time. Instead, they could observe the dangerous action of the crew from the terminal,” added Handle.
How did the airline respond?
“What looks fun in the video is life-threatening,” Michael Pelzer, a spokesman for Swiss Airline, told the Sun. “The wings of a Boeing 777 are about five meters (16.4 feet) high. A fall from that height onto a hard surface can be devastating,” he added.
“This kind of behavior will not be tolerated. The behavior of the employee in the video does not meet our security requirements nor does it reflect the high level of professionalism of our employees,” he continued.

“Oh, very professional. We’ll go through the Swiss below,” user X posted. “They were checking the strength of the emergency exit,” joked another. “This is so risky,” added a third.
“They’re just enjoying themselves, leave them alone,” shared a fourth. “Calm down! Those wings can support the weight of a man. Let them have their own pictures,” wrote a fifth.
