Dog spots turtle at side of the road, goes on to pet it

A video of a dog petting a turtle was shared on Instagram. The video shows a dog named Ritchie, who was intrigued by the reptile lying on the side of the road and proceeded to inquire more about the cute creature.

The video was posted on an Instagram page called ritchiethepyr, dedicated to the Great Pyrenees. “I’m still processing this. How he moves behind the turtle to pet it exactly as I did. My boy is a king in many ways. Tell me your opinion,” reads the description posted with the video.

The clip opens to show a dog barking excitedly from a car. His man soon realizes that he is barking at the turtle, so she takes a dog near her. At first the dog keeps its distance and stares at the turtle. Within moments, the dog gathers courage and approaches the reptile. Towards the end, he even petted the turtle after seeing his human do it.

The video was published four days ago. Since it was shared, the clip has garnered close to 8.7 million views. Also, the video received almost 1.2 million likes. The share garnered several comments from people.
