THIS is the terrifying moment a machete-wielding boy was seen running from a Notting Hill carnival.
It came after eight people were stabbed during the annual event – which officers say was overall “positive” and “good-natured” but was “marred by serious violence”.

A 29-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after the stabbing in Warfield Road, off Harrow Road, just after 9pm on Monday, officers said.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in Ladbroke Grove just before 8pm.
Police confirmed that six other men, aged 18, 19, 20, 25, 28 and 40, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in separate stabbing incidents on Monday night.
There were 275 arrests over the two days of Notting Hill Carnival, with 165 on Monday for a range of offences, including possession of offensive weapons, assaults on police officers, drug possession and sexual offences.
A horrifying video shows some of the chaos on the streets.
A video shared on TikTok shows a group of young guys with their faces covered running with a huge knife.
As they try to flee the scene, several police officers on horseback are seen chasing after the bandits.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan, who oversaw the police operation at the weekend, said: “It is unfortunate that for the second year in a row Monday night at Carnival has been marred by serious violence.
“No-one disputes the significance of Carnival in London’s cultural calendar and the vast majority of those who come will have a positive experience. However, we cannot ignore the stabbings, sexual assaults and attacks on police officers that we have seen.
“As we do after any major operation, we will review the events of the last two days and thoroughly consider what may change in the coming years.”
He continued: “It’s important to recognize the positives from the event that we can take away. I’m glad that, working closely with the event organizers and usher teams, we were able to closely monitor the crowd density and intervene in an effective way to prevent any crush incidents at peak times crowds.
“I would like to thank all the police officers who worked so hard over the weekend to keep people safe.
“Carnival is a challenging policing environment. Officers were required to be alert and cautious, but at the same time approachable, respectful and sensitive. They did all that and more and deserve our recognition and our thanks.”
Earlier on Monday, revelers in colorful costumes paraded through the streets of west London, marking the climax of the carnival.
Thousands of people took part in a lavish parade of adults as part of the annual celebration of Caribbean culture and history.
People partied on rafts, accompanied by drummers and a feathered band dancing to the beat, while stilt walkers strutted around.
Meanwhile, food stalls selling carnival favorites including jerk chicken filled the side streets where sound systems played everything from rare grooves to house, samba, reggae and ska.
Celebrities including Lily Allen, Idris Elba and Nick Grimshaw were among those who partied at this year’s carnival.
More than two million people are thought to have taken to the streets of west London as Carnival, Europe’s biggest street party, celebrated two landmark anniversaries.
The introduction of sound systems and bands 50 years ago turned it into a large-scale event, and the docking of the Empire Windrush 75 years ago heralded mass immigration from the Caribbean.
One DJ set this year was hosted by Luther star Elba (50), who has been DJing for years and had a residency at the Club Room at HI Ibiza in 2022.
Among the most striking additions to the procession was the Windrush-themed double-decker bus which was seen traveling along Ladbroke Grove.

The “beautifully designed” vehicle told the story of the Windrush generation and their “impact on Carnival, the transport network and our city”, according to London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Deborah Klass of Windrush Generation Legacy, who was involved, told the BBC: “This is an important moment for us – this year is significantly important.”
