Elton John, 76, ‘undergoes brain scan’ as he’s treated in hospital after fall at his Nice villa

ELTON JOHN was rushed to hospital after falling at his villa in France.

The music icon, 76, reportedly underwent a brain scan after being taken to the orthopedic ward of Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco.

The Rocket Man singer was then treated for minor injuries.

Elton suffered a fall in his villa in Nice while on holiday with his husband David Furnish and their two sons.

A representative for Elton John said he was discharged this morning and is now back home in good health.

They said: “We can confirm that Elton visited a local hospital as a precaution after slipping at his home in the south of France yesterday.

“After an examination, he was discharged immediately this morning and is now back home in good health.”

It is understood that he was only slightly injured and underwent an examination of the brain and lumbar region, which revealed that he had not suffered any fractures.

Elton has been enjoying his summer holidays in sunny France after finishing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour last month.

The five-year, 330-date tour grossed £720.11m, the equivalent of £2.18m per show or around £16,000 per minute.

Although Elton has not ruled out releasing new music in the future, he has decided to retire from touring to spend more time with David and their children.

However, Elton added that he has not given up performing for good and will probably still play the “odd gig” from time to time.

Elton often says he is determined to stay healthy for the sake of his young family.

On his 75th birthday, Elton wrote a letter to his sons published in Time magazine, calling them his ‘proudest achievements’. He wrote: “Zachary and Elijah, you two are the greatest gift I have ever received.

“You have filled my heart with love and my life with purpose and meaning in ways I never thought possible.

“You are my proudest achievements and I love you both so, so much… Whoever you grow up to be, just be you – completely and utterly you.”

Earlier this month, Elton was pictured celebrating with Kevin Spacey just weeks after the Hollywood star was acquitted of sexual assault allegations.

The music star gave key evidence at Spacey’s trial last month, and this week the pair partied at a restaurant with the band.

A video released by The Snugglers shows Spacey, who has been accused of assaulting four men, filming as Elton joins Elvis Presley’s 1969 classic.

The dinner, which was also attended by Sir Elton’s husband David Furnish, was held at the posh Petite Maison in Nice, France.
