She has beaten leukemia twice since learning she had cancer at ages 8 and 13, and was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called glioma in September 2022.
In a statement, her family said they were “broken and devastated” after her death.
The singer-songwriter has been described as “the brightest star in the darkest night” with a “passion for life”.
Her family said: “Faye had wisdom, compassion and understanding beyond her years.
“She loved passionately, laughed easily and lived socially.”
In 2021, Faye was signed to Stewart’s Bay Street Records and they worked on an EP together.
Stewart said in a statement: “I can’t put into words how devastated I was when, just after spending some amazing creative time with Faye last summer recording her debut album, Faye revealed she had this very aggressive brain tumor.
“It was a pleasure to be around Faye, full of fun, laughter and razor sharp — a true artist in every sense.
“Being with her and watching her work is a diamond that has remained in my head, moments I will never forget.
“I am lucky to have met Faye and her mum Pam, two people who are fighting together against all odds for Faye’s survival.
“It was both traumatic and beautiful to witness their strength and dignity, and I am so sorry that the world only got to witness Faye’s genius for such a short time.
“She is one of the true greats, a northern girl on fire with her lyrics and melodies. I loved her deeply.”
Faye has received huge support from the local music scene, with more than £265,000 raised for treatment in the US.
