now Instagram users can see on their profile who follows them and by all accounts they have followed them. Those accounts can then be immediately unfollowed. Users can also access accounts to ‘mute’ them, meaning they still want to stay with them on their timeline and would like to see it.

“Instagram wants you to get closer to the people you care about, but I know you have interests and connections over time, that you can evolve and change,” a spokesperson told TechCrunch. “We want to make it easy for them to get the accounts you need to follow on Instagram, to manage their current connections and interests, the best way to represent them.”
