During her final years of B.Tech, she started studying for the UPSC test. She struggled to get UPSC coaching while living in Patiala as there were no UPSC coaching institutes. Then she came across an instructor doing a morning workout around 5:30am. She started going to training in the morning and then to college from 8 to 5. Isha Duhan IAS, however, left the course after three to four months because of her college degree. She continued to study through the newspapers of the time. She finally completed her graduation in 2012 and went to Rajendra Nagar, Delhi to prepare for UPSC. She studied there for a year before taking the UPSC preliminary exam in 2013.

Since Isha’s father is in the army, we can assume that Abhimanyu Singh’s parents and Isha’s parents were related for a long time. Because of this, Isha’s parents decided to marry their daughter to Abhimanyu Singh, an army officer. The couple did not have a child from the marriage.
