Jake Paul is reportedly in talks to fight former WWE star Matt Riddle after he was recently released from the company.

Over the past few years, Jake Paul has built his boxing record against opponents who are new to the world of boxing. With the exception of Tommy Fury – who handed him his only loss – ‘The problem Child’ has mainly fought former MMA stars.

He has two wins over Tyron Woodley, as well as wins over Nate Diaz and Ben Askren, but he has been inactive since that win over Woodley.

There have been rumors that he is eyeing a rematch with Fury, should the British reality star defeat KSI on October 14, as well as talk that Jake could eventually fight KSI himself . However, a new candidate appears to have entered the fray – former WWE star Matt Riddle.

That’s according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, as the longtime MMA and wrestling reporter revealed that there are plans to negotiate a fight between Riddle and Paul.

In the October 6 edition of Meltzer’s weekly newsletter, he said that these talks could only be classified as “very preliminary” and there was no word on whether it was a rights event. him or not is a mixed martial arts clash.

Paul has reached an agreement with PFL to make his MMA debut in their Super Fights division, however, that has not happened yet. Although he promised it would be against a big name once it happened.

Although he has focused on professional wrestling for the past decade, Riddle still has experience competing in MMA. He previously competed in the UFC and came away with a record of 8-3-0.

Riddle was recently released from WWE after a long absence. He took a break from WWE programming due to controversy outside the ring, including accusing a Port Authority officer at JFK Airport of sexual assault.

He has a three-month non-compete clause in his WWE contract that won’t expire until the end of 2023, and it’s likely he’ll have to wait for that to expire before meeting Jake . So it remains to be seen whether that will happen or not.
