Love was in the air at Auckland Airport after a man proposed to his long-term partner. The airport shared a touching video of the proposal on its Instagram page, which touched viewers.

“Love was in the air at Auckland Airport. We took the opportunity to be called for this unforgettable moment. Grab the tissues and be prepared to pass out. Congratulations Riiya and Yashraj! Thank you for making us a part of it,” Auckland Airport wrote, sharing the video on Instagram.

The video opens with a text insert highlighting how Auckland Airport’s arrivals hall is a special place for loved ones to reunite. And now the airport has added a unique and romantic marriage proposal to its list of unforgettable moments.

The video then cuts to a man named Yashraj wanting to propose to his girlfriend Riiya at the airport. “So it all started with an idea I had because I knew Riija, she is full of life. So, we have known each other for eight years and we just clicked, and I knew she was the one,” Yashraj is heard saying in the video.

Yashraj sought help from the Auckland Airport Authority for the marriage proposal broadcast over the public address system. He even invited his family and friends to witness the proposal. When Riiya arrived from Melbourne, the proposal was played out. Riiya was completely surprised to hear the pre-recorded, ‘Will you marry me?’ and saw Yashraj on one knee. Riiya accepted the proposal as people cheered for the happy couple.

“It’s the best thing ever. And thank you, Yash, for making this memorable,” Riiya says in the video after accepting the offer.
