My Hero Academia’s Villainous Mr. Compress Returns in Stylish Cosplay

An incredibly sleek and slightly sinister new cosplay is taking Reddit by storm, and it looks like it’s shredded evil characters Mr Compression directly from the page my hero academia. Mr. Compression is a villain associated with the League of Villains, but unlike the other villains, he doesn’t pull off any outrageous acts without first adding a sense of style. This stylish villain is perfectly captured in the all-new cosplay, paired with panels from the My Hero Academia comics for comparison.

Mr. Compression (aka Atsuhiro Sako) first appeared in Chapter 80 of the manga My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi. Mr. Compression is a member of the League of Villains and a member of the organization’s Vanguard Action Squad. Mr. Compression’s decision to follow in the footsteps of his forebear, The Great Bandit, into a career of crime has led to Mr. Compression becoming the villain fans know and love today.

A Reddit post by user Gio August shows the cosplayer dressing up as Mr. Compression and posting photos of the character from the comics next to the real-life one. August brings the iconic My Hero Academia villain to life with a striking resemblance. Enemies’ faces match hats and other stylish clothing, including trench coats and red-gloved hands. Additionally, the cosplayer adds another element of Mr. Compression to the cosplay, showcasing more than just the villain’s stylish look.

Not only is Mr. Compression’s appearance a perfect match to his manga counterpart, but the character’s personality is also on full display, very accurate to Atsuhiro’s personality. The cosplayers add a bit of showmanship to the photo by pointing their guns at the camera, as Mr. Compression does in every appearance in My Hero Academia.
