A groom who went viral on TikTok last year for organizing the “wedding of the century” has been arrested on suspicion of shooting at a police officer.
Texan Jacob LaGrone, who went viral in 2022 for his lavish wedding that spanned several days of events and cost more than $50 million, was arrested for “aggravated assault on a public servant.”
The wedding took TikTok by storm when bride Madelaine Brockway posted highlights of the five-day celebration on the site, including live performances by Maroon 5 and the $56 million price tag at the resort Amangiri in the Utah desert. Each night of the event has a different theme, such as “Beautiful in Pink” and “Golden Hour.”

But it seems the couple’s fortunes have taken a turn for the worse after LaGrone was charged with three counts of aggravated assault against police after he allegedly fired a gun at them in March earlier this year.
Three officers from Westworth Village and Westover Hills said they were responding to “multiple disturbance calls” on March 14 when they were allegedly “fired by LaGrone.”
According to court documents and a report by NBC News, LaGrone was recommended to receive a sentence of 25 years in prison after appearing in court on November 30.
His newlywed wife has since stopped posting on social media and removed several wedding-related videos.
