xQc has revealed that his recent Twitter controversy resulted in his colleague Pokimane seemingly cutting ties with a quick unfollow.
Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has become one of the biggest streamers on the internet, but that hasn’t kept him out of trouble with his fair share of controversies over the years.
Most recently, xQc was criticized for his strange response to criticism on Twitter. When called out to convey his reaction to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the streamer responded by flaunting his wealth – a retort that quickly drew backlash.
Now, xQc has revealed that his antics may have cost him some friendships, admitting ‘Pokimane’ unfollowed him and he has been unable to “maintain” friendships.
Speaking to his chat, xQc revealed Pokimane privately messaged him following his controversial Twitter response. He said, “She sent something about it because she wasn’t too happy… and then I didn’t hear back for two days.”
Before he knew it, xQc discovered his co-creator had unfollowed him on Instagram; “I think she would be sensible enough to know that the tweet about me was stupid.”
However, it seems xQc doesn’t blame Pokimane for her choice of actions. In another thread, xQc again addressed the situation, saying “I understand that there is a social status I need to maintain in order to maintain my friendships and I haven’t been doing that lately . So I don’t [on] watchlist. What can I say, man, I’m so tired.”
Viewer xQc didn’t seem too surprised by this latest update, theorizing that Pokimane “has to maintain its image.”
One person wrote: “[Pokimane] work smarter, [xQc] work harder. She chose the family-friendly path and [xQc] chose the path of brand risk.”
Another person discussing xQc and Pokimane’s relationship said: “They clearly see the world completely differently and it often causes conflicts between them.”
