After a 13-year hiatus and numerous rumors of a reboot, party down Finally back to Starz. Although the show only aired for two seasons from 2009 to 2010, word of mouth has mushroomed in the years since. For obvious reasons, the show was beloved by freelancers pursuing creative careers, but it finally found a wider audience thanks to its clever writing and (soon to be) star-studded original cast, with just about everyone coming back for more this new version.

Screen Rant: Any of you with party down before you do this? Have you seen the show? Or did you review the show after getting the role?

Zoë Chao: I am very familiar with this show. I started watching it a few years after it came out, working at the Marmont bar across the street for four and a half years right out of school.I feel like I’m on a parallel journey party down Crew, it’s really comforting to see them struggle because I’m struggling too.This is my first time with party down.

Tyrell Jackson Williams: I grew up with fans party down. You were too young to watch this show when it first aired, but it’s kind of like this giant floating iceberg, [with] People are like, “party down too crazy. “Then the opportunity to be involved in it came up and I took it.

You all bring something new, but you also meet party down Perfect. Did it take a minute to find your place in the dynamic, or was it easier than that?

Zoë Chao: It’s not easy.

Tyrell Jackson Williams: Nope. No.

Zoe Cho as Martin [Starr] So funny. During the shoot, he said, “You’re really nervous that first day. Like, you’re so nervous.” And I was like, “Yeah, thank you. I was, slash, I’m still nervous.” Even though Now I’m also nervous, even though it’s in the jar and the picture is locked. I don’t feel like I know how or why I got on this show, but I just feel so lucky to be here. Glad to hear we didn’t ruin it.

Did you feel a lot of pressure when you first came in?

Tyrell Jackson Williams: One hundred percent. It’s the pressure of my childhood to learn about the show by osmosis and to be a part of it.and [it was] I know everyone on the show defines comedy for me. Jumping in and saying, “Yeah, I’m supposed to be with all of you, it’s really scary.”

Is there anything special about each of your characters that you enjoyed playing or delving into the most?

Zhao Zuoyi: Yes. I love a passionate character who has a clear point of view and is fighting for something. Lucy is fighting for something.

Terrell Jackson-Williams: I love playing Saxon’s bravado and confidence that the world belongs to him and that good things are destined to happen to him. It’s fun to do, especially bouncing off other people.

A decade later, most of the Party Down catering team is gone, including actor and bartender Henry Pollard (Adam Scott). After a surprise reunion, the gang finds themselves stoic once again enduring random parties and odd guests across Los Angeles.

Scott reprises his role alongside original cast members Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen and Megan Mullally. The previously announced new cast includes Jennifer Garner, Tyrell Jackson-Williams and Zoe Cho. James Marsden will return as a guest star. The third season is executive produced by “Party Down” alumni Rob Thomas, John Enboom, Paul Rudd, Dan Etheridge and Adam Scott. Enboom also serves as a producer on the show. “Party Down” was produced by Lionsgate Television for STARZ.
